If all of your uni offers are in here’s what to do next.
You will have been receiving email notifications as your uni offers have come in. Once the final offer comes in – it’s time to reply to your offers.
UCAS Track
You will need to log on to UCAS Track to reply to your offers. There should be a deadline date on Track and you need to reply by this date shown. You will normally have between 1 and 5 weeks, depending on what time of year it is.
Choices for replying to your uni offers
You will have three choices when it comes to replying to the offers that you have had:
- Firm acceptance
- Insurance acceptance
- Decline
Uni Offers - Firm Acceptance
No doubt you have a favourite university and course in the mix – this will be your firm (first) choice. If your offer is unconditional then the place is yours – congratulations! If it’s a conditional offer then the place is yours as long as you meet the conditions of the offer.
Accepting Your Insurance Offer
Next you need to select your insurance place. This is important to get right because it is your second choice should anything go wrong and you do not get the grades that you need for your first choice. Choose an offer which has lower entry conditions than your firm choice. I cannot stress this enough, I’ve seen students end up with no place on results day because they selected an insurance choice that had the same entry requirements as their first choice.
You need to decline all other offers.
What happens after this I have accepted or decline all uni offers?
On results day, if you meet the conditions of your firm acceptance choice then the place is yours.
On results day, if you do not meet the entry requirements for your firm acceptance choice but you do meet the conditions for your insurance choice then this place will be yours.
On results day, if you do not meet the conditions for either your firm or your insurance choices then all is not lost. You can still apply through clearing for a place on another course or at another university.
